After having a roller coaster of 2021, the idea of discomfort got a “tad” bit more comfortable within my core, emphasis on the word tad. But all the universe heard was “comfortable with discomfort” – aaaah adventurous 2022 to be served on a platter.
From massive #mural projects some of which conveniently fell on my lap, to new kinds of art which incorporated nature (read #mossart), to the usual #acrylic painting and intricate work, the year for art and painting was a full year 😊. I finally caved and started dipping my toe into #digitalart and I must say I have not been as impressed with another product as I have been with #procreate! @Procreate has won my heart in a very short span of time and I can’t say enough good things about it. Not cheating on traditional art here, but this brilliant tool is definitely my new love 😊. If you’re hiring for #product roles @procreate, you know where to find me 😉 – can’t go wrong with a potential power user, massive fan, PM and art lover to build an even better product!
Moving on from right brained things to a little too exciting (not by choice) left brained items now… I had the opportunity of adding new feathers to my #productmanagement and #projectmanagement cap to include #peoplemanagement. Feeling downright uncomfortable while launching big projects, leading a team for the first time not only got me to dig real deep and get all my tools from the #PM toolkit, but from life in general. I had to channel my inner good manager's experience from the past and also keep the bad ones at bay. Did I succeed – ummm not on day 1 when I wanted to turn around and run the other direction as fast as I could! But definitely by the end of it I think I could happily say that ‘the snake was killed without breaking the stick’ OR ‘I had my cake and ate it too’ 😊
I cannot say the same about #crypto and #defi though. For anybody that’s been up to date in this space, you know what a crazy year it has been for the #cryptomarkets – right out of a movie; except…..(drumroll).... it wasn’t a movie! (wink wink #luna, bunch of blur in the middle with grand finale Mr. #sbf #ftx). Safe to say I am not looking at my crypto portfolio for a year, or two or who knows maybe 100! #chatgpt on the other hand is a different story. What if I told you chatgpt wrote this 2022 recap for me. Ok, that’s a joke - I wrote this myself, but the lines between reality and AI have started blurring…We might be in the matrix! With #AI making the leaps and bounds, there have been some backlash from certain communities but I can see a lot of new job titles in 2023 and beyond with the advent of this new boom (read “AI trainer”). “Youtuber”, “Social Media Manager” etc were not a job title in 2015!
I think when you’re open to adventure and opportunities life operates in a different plane whether you’re qualified and ready or not. Year of firsts yet again with my first ever #roadtrip of over 2000 miles in a span of a couple of weeks which was UM-MAZING, to climbing in cool places like Red River Gorge, to seeing caves that looked like a theater and hanging from a rope holding on to dear life (kidding!?). Very glad to have finally run a #spartanrace post covid! Aroo aroo aroo…

When it rains it pours, but can’t complain about getting wet whilst appreciating the power and beauty of the storm and the transformation that it intends on bringing. So here’s what I’m gonna do - I’m going to carry an umbrella with me in 2023 and maybe a rain jacket too :D… I will either be bone dry and dodge the metaphorical raindrops OR will have more amazing stories by the end of 2023 (Type 2 fun. Remind me to explain the kinds of fun if we ever meet in person!)
Have a few lofty checklist items for next year, we’ll see how that goes 😉…. Here’s to yet another year of fun adventures, firsts, growth, transformation, bumping into a tonne of smart people, forging long lasting bonds, planting the seeds of a successful future, laying the foundation and meeting #elon😊 (because let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to meet him!) – Cheers to 2023! ‘appy New Year!
