#OadlProject365 - Day 135 - Mid Year Summary

3rd July 2023

Hello World!

I’m back from my adventures around the globe after almost 2 full months. It was AWESOME and HOT and WILD! I didn’t want to be back.

Happy belated longest day of the year!!! [Summer solstice just got done]

For all those who are new here #OadlProject365 is my attempt to draw/sketch/paint/do art for at least 5 minutes everyday for 365 days. I posted about it in detail on day 1.

(Btw Oadl is an acronym for ‘Only A Decade Late’ which is my pseudonym in the www and the general story of my life - Ha!)

Now back to business. I do need to make some tweaks to the original #OadlProject365 goal, because #life. Let’s see where we are at right now -

Mid Year Status Updates and Accomplishments:

• We are at the 1/2 year mark. Can’t believe 6 months of 2023 have flown by so fast :O

• I wasn’t able to post for the past 2-ish months since I was travelling

• Q1 2023 has been a big success since I consistently created and posted everyday- Wohoo

• Q2 - slightly more than 1/3rd successful (posted in April and half of May)

• So far we have come successfully completed 134 days ~ 36% (4.5/6 months consistently) - I am very proud that I have a collection of work so far

• Lost 26.5% of my audience that unsubscribed since I started :/ - Can be a positive or negative depending on how you look at it

• The tool that I’m using (Substack) seems to have had a facelift while I was MIA :O

Tentative Gameplan for rest of the year:

• NO PLANS!

• Ok kidding - I do have a few other higher priority items, so this project “may“ take a backseat, but my goal is to create some children’s book illustrations this year no matter how basic it is

• My other goal is to begin creating some traditional work and murals again

• MOST IMPORTANT - Not beating myself up given the other priorities

Hang in there with me to see where this venture takes me by end of year. Not making any promises on how often I will post. Could be everyday too!
